Heidi Klum is rarely seen in public with her youngest daughter, Lou, which made their joint appearance in Paris this past weekend stand out immediately. Klum brought the 16 year old, whom she shares with singer Seal, along for a stretch of Fashion Week events, framing the whole trip as a gift ahead of Lou's 17th birthday on October 9.

A weekend built around a milestone

The two started with an exclusive Audemars Piguet party, then attended the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Spring Summer 2027 show together before capping the trip at the BoF500 Gala at the Shangri-La Hotel Paris. For the Vivienne Westwood show, Lou wore a white silk off the shoulder minidress with a structured bodice and a subtle peplum detail at the skirt, a polished choice for what was effectively her introduction to the city's fashion scene.

A mother's intentional choice

Klum told Vogue Germany the trip was meant as a little early birthday present, and that she wanted Paris during Fashion Week to be Lou's first real fashion moment. Coming from someone who has spent decades inside that world herself, the framing read less like a publicity opportunity and more like a parent choosing to share something personally meaningful with her daughter right as she's about to turn 17.

Klum shares three other children, Leni, Henry, and Johan, and has occasionally stepped out with them at fashion events over the years. Lou's appearance this weekend was notably rare by comparison, making the choice to bring her to Paris specifically for this birthday feel like a deliberate one rather than a routine family outing.
