Wicknell Chivayo is rarely out of the headlines in Zimbabwe, and almost never for staying quiet about money. The businessman has turned his own social media accounts into a running showcase of private jet trips, designer luggage, and tailored suits, posting the kind of images that would look at home in a luxury travel catalog rather than a personal feed.
One recent post captures the pattern well: Chivayo settled into the cream leather seat of a private jet, a cocktail resting on the armrest, with a travel case from Hermès parked beside him. The bag alone, part of the French house's Haut a Courroies line, is the kind of piece that typically carries a price tag well into six figures and a waiting list to match, regardless of how much a buyer is willing to pay upfront.
A brand built on visibility
Unlike many wealthy figures who keep their spending private, Chivayo has made the opposite choice. Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, and a rotating fleet of luxury SUVs have all made appearances on his accounts over the years, often tied to specific occasions, birthdays, weddings, or gifts handed to musicians, athletes, and public figures he has taken a liking to. Those gestures, usually filmed and shared within hours, have done as much to build his public profile as any business deal has.
