Mel C married Australian model Chris Dingwall in July 2026 at a lakeside home in Cumbria, England, and one guest showed up in a color most wedding guests know to avoid. Geri Halliwell-Horner wore a long sleeved white dress with colored flowers to the ceremony, breaking the unwritten rule against wearing white to someone else's wedding.
Mel C addressed it directly in an interview with Australian radio station KIIS 1065, and made clear there was no tension over it. I did have a little chat with Geri, she said, because it is her favorite colour, she wears it every day. She described the dress as beautiful and floral, adding that the two of them had a little giggle with her about that.
Halliwell-Horner, 54, has long been known for favoring white as her signature color, so the choice tracked more as personal style than any breach of etiquette in Mel C's eyes. Mel C, 52, wore her own custom ivory lace silk slip dress made by Victoria Beckham for the day. Beckham could not attend in person but still played a part in the wedding, lending Mel C the dress as her something borrowed.
The rest of the group showed up too, with Mel B and Emma Bunton also attending. Mel C and Dingwall met three years earlier on the dating app Raya, and he proposed the following summer. Between the dress swapped as something borrowed and old bandmates trading jokes about wedding color etiquette, the day carried the kind of easy, long running friendship that two decades in a group together tends to produce.
