Dai Fuad, the actor who broke through on the Astro Originals series Good Boys Go to Heaven, has landed a role he came close to missing the first time around. He is now part of the Projek: High Council team in Kudrat 1968, the prequel to the film Kahar: Kapla High Council.

The role means something specific to Dai because of how close he came to being in the original film. He had auditioned for Kahar: Kapla High Council, advancing all the way through a fourth audition phase and landing on the final shortlist of five for the role of Beja, only to lose the part to actor Aedy Ashraf. Kudrat 1968 gives him a way into that same world after all, alongside an ensemble that includes Mierul Aiman, Zarif Ghazzi, Akmal Asyraf, Chech Harith, and Evertts Gomes.

Dai is not treating the role as a small consolation. He has been direct about the level he thinks the project can reach. In this current climate, he said, we're not just competing with other local productions, but international shows too. I believe Kudrat 1968 is capable of reaching that level.

That confidence comes with an acknowledgment of what the project is up against, an established fanbase already invested in Kahar's world and a genre landscape getting more competitive by the year. For an actor who once fell one spot short of a role in that same universe, getting a real seat in its prequel reads less like a backup plan and more like unfinished business.
